Do’s and Don’ts for Living a Healthy Lifestyle!

Everyone wants to live a healthier life, but they have no idea where to start. People keep on searching for ways to live a healthy life and spend money on expensive dieticians and health improvement plans. The truth is that all this can be achieved without spending a lot of money. All they have to do is start taking small healthier steps.

Let’s take a look at things you should and should not do to live A Healthier Lifestyle.

Things to do for living a healthy lifestyle

Doing the following regularly will help you live a healthy lifestyle :

1) Eat fruits and vegetables

Vegetables and fruits are an important part of a healthy diet, and variety is as important as quantity. Fruits and vegetables contain many of the essential vitamins and minerals that your body cannot produce on its own; this is what makes you feel healthy and energized.

2) Stay Hydrated

Everyone is different and has different hydration needs. Your body needs water according to your weight and your day-to-day activities. Water boosts energy and maintains a healthy blood level. You can consume water through fruits and vegetables which contain water. Example: Cucumber, Watermelon, Oranges, Strawberries, etc.

3) Get a quality sleep

Adequate sleep is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Sleep is as important to our health as eating, drinking, and breathing. Your body produces growth hormones and thyroid-stimulating hormones when you’re sleeping. Having 7 hours of sleep at night will remove your stress and help you to stay focused on your work the whole day.

4) Exercise regularly

Exercise and physical activity are great ways to feel better. Regular physical activity can improve energy levels and increase your confidence. Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. You don’t always need to join a gym for exercise, you can watch a YouTube tutorial of qualified trainers about regular exercise.

5) Cut back on salt and sugar

The benefit of lowering salt intake is a corresponding reduction in high blood pressure. Too much salt causes the body to retain water. Sugar gains more calories in your body. Too much sugar can cause insulin resistance, obesity, and diabetes.

The more amount of sugar and salt in your meal causes high blood pressure, and increased risk of heart disease, and stroke.

6) Stay positive

Your mental health plays a huge role in your general well-being. If you eat healthy food and proteins you will feel better and feel more energetic. It will bring positivity to your personality. To stay positive, surround yourself with people who love and always appreciate you.

7) Stay Organised

By keeping organized, you will save time looking for things and will have more time to work on important tasks. This will save your energy and release your stress.

Make a to-do list of your daily tasks and important ones and set a time limit according to the need of work so you will be able to finish your work on time.

8) Take vacations

Exploring new places can give you a fresh wave of motivation and the strength to keep your life moving forward when you return. By traveling you rewire your brains. By rewiring the brain you become more creative, happy, and less anxious.

The research shows that far from being a break on performance, vacations actually increase productivity. Humans are simply more productive when rested.

Things to avoid for living a healthy lifestyle

Make sure not to do the following things :

  1. Smoking and drinking

There are some major ingredients of a cigarette are Tar, Nicotine, and Carbon monoxide. Tar is a toxic chemical that is found in cigarettes and nicotine is a poisonous alkaloid derived from the tobacco plant. So think as many times you smoke a cigarette you actually inhale these toxic materials inside your body and let your lungs damage. Drinking alcohol in excess can put you at risk of a number of short and long-term health harms. For example, consuming too much alcohol in a short span of time could put you at risk of alcohol poisoning.

2) Eating junk processing food

Junk food has zero nutritional value and is often high in fat, salt, sugar, and/or calories. Common junk foods include salted snack foods, fried fast food, and carbonated drinks. Heavily processed food contains sugar, fat, and empty calories in high amounts, eating processed food increases health problems that lead to an early grave, depression, obesity, and high blood pressure. Avoid junk and processed food and eat fresh ready homemade meals and fresh fruits and vegetables.

3) Skip a Meal

You have to work the whole day to stay productive. Your body needs energy, if you skip meals your body will lower its metabolism and cause us to have less energy. Skipping meals to lose weight and keep it off, you have to reduce the number of calories you consume and increase the calories you burn through exercise. Instead of skipping meals you could eat fruits and drink healthy juices.

4) Sacrifice sleep and oversleep

Sacrificing sleep and oversleeping both are harmful. Sacrificing sleep makes you tired and oversleeping would make you lazy. But Don’t forget that sleep is as important as eating and breathing. Sleep duration outside of 7–8 hours each night is linked to a higher risk of death and cardiovascular diseases. If you sacrifice your sleep to complete your delay and daily tasks or for your entertainment you will feel more tired and stressed, and due to stress, you will not be able to focus on your further tasks.

5) Negative people

Never be with those people who always make you sad and treat you badly.

Those people would be the main reason for lowering your self-confidence. It’s not hard to know who is your well-wisher and who wants to see you fail. Focus on how they treat you and their intentions for you,

You will eventually get the answer. It’s not easy to ignore negativity, so walk away and focus more on positivity.

6) Worry too much

Most of the things people worry about never happen. By Worrying too much you feel uneasy and anxious, and become less focused. Take time to acknowledge your worries and write them down. Explore the roots of worries, once you know things you are worried about too much then try to solve them. Stop worrying by practicing meditation in the morning, deep breathing, and mindfulness. Read books that contain positive content like “Stay positive”, “live a happy life” etc.

7) Wasting time

         Be productive..! Stop wasting time.

Once you complete your daily chaos or any delayed task you want to feel like taking a break. You can take a break but set a specific limit for that, don’t just get stirred in it, then this will delay your further tasks. If you have more free time then try to utilize it in doing intellectual work like reading a book of famous authors, planning about your further tasks, reading informative blogs, etc. Don’t utilize it in scrolling on social media and an unimportant chat.

8) Pleasing everyone

Stop getting pleasure from everyone. You have to accept that fact, you can’t make everyone happy. People will behave with you in the way they look at the world, the way they think of you, and their perspective on life. Most people get depressed because there is someone who hates them, then it’s not your problem, it’s their problem. Just be who you are.
